Being charitable is an acquired spiritual asset that can contribute to community building by helping those in need. Although important, it goes beyond giving money to charities. Being charitable is about being compassionate and humble. It’s about loving yourself as well as others that need support and building friendships to create a positive community.

How you can be charitable

Time: You can be charitable by investing your time into something bigger than yourself like serving food at a kitchen, donating clothes or food to a homeless shelter, and/or volunteering at your local Non-Profit.

Donate: Donating money to your local Non-Profit is important because their are charities that help support families that struggle to feed their family, or their is someone suffering from a life threatening disease that can’t afford their medical bills, but regardless it’s not about the amount donated, it’s about the compassion of giving. If you don’t want to donate your financial resources, you can instead buy something from your local Non-Profit. Many organizations will sell a product or service in order to raise funds to donate to the charity they choose to support.
